Term 4 WEEK 5

This week we learned stuff in maths. What we learned in maths was integers I learned about adding and subtracting integers. Here's an example  -1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 that is the number line it guides you through the process when it's to hard.

In English we watched a DVD called WALL E We now have to write a film review on it well bye.

this week in school we learned about tree diagrams. I learned how to solve tree diagrams  you basicly start with how much you have at the top x what's on the 2nd row x the next row and it keeps going like that until your out of rows. once that's done, you've found your denominator. then you fin all possible outcomes to find your numerator.
 TECH ART  
in teach art we are doing design so far we have made spinning tops and now I'm making a little bird house thing were the light comes out through the bottom, and a mine craft zombie, that's head comes off.

This week we learned about how decimal fractions and how to convert fractions into decimals
Example: 5/10 = 0.5 and 0.73 =73/100
 tech arts was good because in art we got to paint with water colour all though I was a bit messy.

student assembly was funny they did a student vs teachers dance guessing game, sadly none of the students on the stage could guess the dance their partner was doing before the teachers guest so teachers won.

TERM 2 WEEK 1

This term has been pretty good in school this year.
Tech Arts Tuesday: tech arts on Tuesday was awesome we are currently doing my favorite subject in tech arts, Art! we just finished our ceramic sandals, and now we're doing this thing we're you put what your life means to you in a shape.

School: in school we're learning how to use proper dialogue and how to use it without saying he said or she complained.
Example: there are only 2 people so 'hey man are you going to the movies'
'Nah'
but since that we don't know who's talking if you don't want to use the he said you're probably going to have to start like this. 2 boy's named Tom and Greg we're talking in the yard
'hey are you going to the movies' asked Tom
'nah'
'why not?'
See now we've got a piece of dialogue but if you wanted you could of just used Greg answered if you wanted.

Maths: in maths my group has been learning  about different types of strategies like rounding and place value
Example: 51 + 29 round 29-30 an take away one on 51-50 =80
whatever you do on one side you have to do the opposite on the other side

A N Z A C  CEREMONY: it was great we heard a lot of informative and persuasive speeches and poems, the speeches made me understand why they went to war, and the speeches made me understand their pain
and what they we're feeling.

WELLINGTON TRIP

SNORKELING was awesome, I thought it was gonna be boring and uncool, but it was rad.      There were no more parents or buddies to pair up with so I got to go snorkeling with one of the

instructors. I saw some carpet sharks that are surprisingly harmless and some snake stars which are starfish with tentacles, There was also a crab that doesn't come out much, he’s as big as this page probably and that's the size he’d be flat. HE’S MASSIVE!!!

CARTER OBSERVATORY was cool because if you know what observatories are then you know it means space! At the Observatory we saw what constellations would be found that night, and to be honest the ancestors were pretty lazy, I mean seriously the small dog was just a line.

I liked the 3 lions Leo Major Leo and Minor Leo. We also learned about extremophiles were they can live anywhere but if you take them out of their original extreme habitat and put them in another habitat they will die.

Wellington Zoo was cool because we got to see the Chimpanzees and Tiger get fed. we also saw how the chimpanzees and monkeys act. To get to the monkeys we had to go through my favorite exhibit, the Australian animals. We saw some wallaby which aren't that much bigger than a rabbit. and there was this sand pit that said, DIG LIKE A DINGO!

Wellington Museum City & Sea was alright but I think It could be better.

Holocaust center was very informational but I think it’s sad how Nazis would murder and vandalize and just get away with it.

Parliament was a bit boring for me but it was funny how they were yelling and screaming at each other ( debating)

Zealandia was awesome I really liked looking at all the animals and it was a perfect place to work on my drawings.

Te Papa was great especially with the flight simulator that was great, it made everything look so real, although it wasn't. I really think that’s the next step in fight history.

The national library was full of history, it felt like a museum more than a library.

Capital E to be honest ONTV wasn't so great but the show got done eventually.

The Media lab on the other hand was great I passed my * ball app and my drawing app, which was my idea. but the talking cat app wouldn't work.

This week I learned about algorithms in multiplication.I understand some of it but not all of it. If your multiplying by one digit like two then great all you have to do is multiply the whole number in one go. But if your multiplying with a two or more digit number, like 63 or 134 then you have to  split the number up.

Band: to be honest I don't really learn much in band: last week my teacher just kept talking on the phone. & the other weeks I had to go and find the other people that didn't come to band.  

Wellington trip: this Sunday my class is going on a trip to Wellington. we're going to explore everywhere in Wellington like Te papa the zoo Island bay marine center, and the Carter observatory. 
& we get to ride in a cable car.




                    

Term 1 week 6 11 march 2015

This week I learned about B.E.D.M.A.S because I've never  been taught it at all in my life.
I learned that if a number is next to a bracket you do what's in the

Example of BEDMAS: 6(3+2)+ 5- 4= 31            
In music we've been doing a rap about being healthy.

Week 4 Thursday 26th February 2015

This week I learned about estimation and approximation, & how Leading digit & significant figure mean the same thing.
Example: Round to leading digit: 653 700 because 6 is the leading digit and if the next number is 5 or higher you round up but if it's 4 or lower. Round number to 1 significant figure the answer would still 700 for the exact same reason.

This week in maths I learned algorithms in addition which was handy because i was never taught algorithms at my old school.

In writing I learned that you can write an argument on one side of the debate but still show both sides to whatever the argument is.
Example: The teacher is sometimes not right but it might not be there fault.

Term 1 Week 2 Thursday 12 February

This week I learned how to say Eiffel tower in french. I also learned a lot of swimming but I still need to practice my dive.
Music: in music I learned how to play some more electric keyboard through some sort of music folder, I also learned the types of beats like 1/2 beat is quaver, 4 beats semibreve, 2 beats minim


 I have improved massively in basic facts I've speedup by 12 questions.
I've learned that french words are similar to English words, and the ones that aren't are pretty easy to say. Example: oui-yes   OUI- hi wii
